seeing the oil for the very first time and the woman it so graciously formed led me to stare for hours on end her face, my heart and soul warmed the hands of the artist inspired by love had created her image of beauty a gift reserved for another, not I a soldier; that was my duty years have passed, my wounds have healed though in time I would return to the land that claimed a part of me and the woman for whom I still yearn the oil, you see, is forever young but for you and I my friend each sunrise brings another day which we follow to its end and so I close, I've made my peace where I go she may not join me to a place where paintings do not hang only miseries of war surrounding ...just bein' Bluesy |
