[not me - my niece]
some days I feel choked up in disquiet even the sky looks strangled with grey clouds I watch them float and soon break in pieces as they drift in gossamer wisps of white my heart begins to stop spinning helpless I hold my breath - a sense of calm fills me
I am an infinitesimal speck perching unabashed almost desperate beneath the tree of life, yet I am awed how such flawless grandeur can seduce me to regard the thorns I tread on my path ephemeral, trivial, fleeting fancy
Away from all the frenetic hustle in a land gripping me tightly in chains anguish and desolation to haunt me like ghost shadows humoring me no peace how easy here to blot out the hurting I'll tarry now awhile, so leave me be.

quote: "I am awed how such flawless grandeur can seduce me"
This is the essence of peace, wherever 'grandeur' may be...within or without. Lovely poetry jjote.Loving Linny Jean is poetry.

Ahhh . . . Such a beautiful poem, and more than that and instructive one. My favorite lines by far is . . . "in a land gripping me tightly in chains / anguish and desolation to haunt me."

Such specks as we may be, our tiny speck-like existence hurts. And so it should, it gives us hope to hurt.
