Reminiscence Song Where the road meets the sky I'm tracing a kiss from the girl of my dreams Framed by Rocky Mountain high Painted in red rouge Standing before an emotional deluge Lit by the evening sun's brilliant beams So it seems I'm destined to pick up every piece of me Scattered and torn asunder along the way Still I'm teaching my eyes how to see The love that turns night into day A sketch of the slow dawning of truth Reflections of these memories I still cling to I'm ready to sing it now... These days I can't help but laugh At the shape of my weary heart Threadbare at the hour of aftermath Oh but it's been so long A reminiscence song sung so blue I don't pretend to be a singer But tonight I'm remembering you In song Where the path branches ever higher I'm stealing moments with the girl of my dreams Colored by love's sacred fire Set alight in the dark Silhouetted couples searching for the spark Love, were you born to set the scene Sowing the seems Back together like no one else ever could For you're my compass and Northern Star Leading me out of the darkest woods There's no measurement of just how far For me to come crawling back to you Reflections of the one I dedicate this song to And I'm singing it out loud... Your poetry is so fine, I only wish I could listen your words put to music. You're a class act good poet. So beautifully done, soul drifter. |
