Fair to middlin' of nowhere

The ah after the storm
when the clatter and roar ceases
and skies are at peace again.
We open the door to rain fresh aftermath.
Perhaps the ah is Amen to the undisturbed.
Or ah is the disappointment at sights asunder.
There is no denying
the ah after the storm.
It fills us in its moment.

The ah after the storm is expressing thanks that the storm decided to not take your lives that day. Ahhh . . .

We had a very noisy thunderstorm last night that came at bed time. Our ah was no mess this morning. The Solomon River (just down the road) is supposed to go outside its banks today. We are on elevated land and feel safe from flooding. However to go into  Salina today I may have to take a major detour. Didn't get a phone call from my husband on his way to work so water is not across the road yet. ~L

Oh, okay, I thought it was about the tornadoes that swept through parts of Kansas a few days ago.

It would well apply, I can see why you would think that too. ~L

That fresh smell after rain is so definitely, "ah". Thanks.

Thanks Pete, I was hoping to latch on to a universal feeling. ~L

Lori!!
No, it's "Ah", like in thank you, my dear, for your beautiful words of wisdom, and thoughtful insight... silly.

JL,
I thought maybe you'd had so much rain there in Texas you were ready to say "Ah" to heck with all this flooding! ~L
