We overstretch the possible
Beyond the thin elastic
To build ourselves a paper world
and seal the cracks with plastic
~
Deluded in our comfort dreams
'Don’t pay just come and borrow
You’re doing fine, your credits good
No worries till tomorrow’
~
So life is fine, doesn’t cost a dime
Relax, it's no big deal
Retribution comes another day
Step up and spin the wheel
~
Malika has no credit card
Nor seen a dollar bill
But smiles and fills her water bowl
and climbs the dusty hill

One of your best in my opinion.

In the beginning, I was smiling at the humor. At the end, it was like taking a cold glass and dropping it into boiling water.

A powerful piece to be sure. You write with your eyes open Cari.

More feelings and fewer words please
