Prisoners of the Dust I saw today two lone eagles in joyous flight, the very finest form of living and visual poetry, dancing with clouds, dappled sunbeams, and absolute abandon in an endless azure sky, with their unblinking view beyond the farthest horizons to all possible ends of this lovely world. What must they think of this trembling earthbound land of men ... prisoners of the dust? --- b. e. adams (4/15/2016) |

Don't believe they think of us at all, Bruce. I imagine they are much too invigorated riding the powerful waves of the air. Nice poetry. I love eagles . . . ~ If they give you ruled paper, write sideways. ~ [This message has been edited by JerryPat2 (04-15-2016 03:16 PM).] |

Thanks, Ida ! Eagles are making a 'comeback' here in the 'endless' hills of old Appalachia ... even in the town called Eagles Mere. ... Eagles Mere, Pa The ‘Endless’ mountain road winds ever upward through crackling-cold air and the wild, keen music of sunrise … to which eagles once danced airborne arabesques, reflected in mirror-lake ecstasy; and soft snow-feather trees tickle glowering clouds to the edge of silent laughter … by ‘the town that Time forgot,’ where Nature still speaks in a voice of quiet thunder, to those who cherish the old ways of listening, seeing, and being! --- b. e. adams |

Prisoners of the dust! That's true for everyone and everything, but there is hope for the soul that trust the Lord! Thanks for sharing, may you be blessed! |

Eagles are a majestic creature, but so are all birds with large wingspans. Many naturally love the eagle over other species for specific reasons I'm not well connected with. All birds are beautiful in their way, but eagles, herons, cranes and even the loathsome chicken-hawk and turkey-buzzards are awesome in flight. Its the same with airplanes. If a Cessna 172 flies over your turf, you watch it some, but if a 747 flies over at the same altitude, it definitely has your attention. Your poem strikes me at that level Bruce...Awesome. More feelings and fewer words please |
