The Unbeliever Our fair land is plagued with charlatans Cloaked deceivers who prey on simple minds Sellers of campfire illusions Their gods stolen from Viking lore ~ False prophets living by the begging bowl Scorning the rewards of honest labour Their words fall easy from silver tongues Innocents captured in wide eyed wonder ~ I will not sacrifice to the Earth Mother Nor shy from the raven’s wing Or hide in terror from Woden’s hordes As they ride the storm racked night ~ Gatherings of the tree talkers Are no longer welcome on my land Rune casters flee for their lives But still my barley and wheat prosper ~ There is a new prophet in the land St Augustine no less, peddling just one god Who forgives our sins in exchange for obedience Know then Prophet, be wary on where you walk |

The talk is that a clear vision of things within your fine poetry are soon to be manifest. Extraordinary work Cari, clean and insightful. More feelings and fewer words please |

Your poem is finely written, Cari, a fact I have come to expect from you. As far as I can perceive is that throughout history there has been wave after wave of "charlatans" picking the brains and money from the simple-minded with their false gods. True enough, but here is one of those simpletons who, at the very young age of around fourteen, denounced god and His disciples. They have never worked for me. ~ If they give you ruled paper, write sideways. ~ |

Well said, friend "There is a new prophet in the land St Augustine no less, peddling just one god." Because, one, it is. I call it the "energy entity" Well done. |
