Fair to middlin' of nowhere

A pain in the neck
is hard to beat
when the rest of the body
is trying to compete.
There is no point
in getting my nose out of joint,
as it would be the only one
not clamoring for attention.
Some days are diamonds,
some days are stones.
Some days I wish I
was made of  butterflies
instead of bones.
Oh, to be filled
with weightless flutter.
Instead, I’m pilled
for my painful clutter.
It hurts to walk,
It hurts to stand.
It hurts to work a rubber band.
Not that I’m in agony,
Oh no, goodness me.
Just enough to make me groan and whine,
a little morphine and I’ll be fine.

Never had morphine, just assumed it will kill pain deader than a door knob. It sounded better than heroin... never had it either. Actually 4 extra strength Tylenol did a pretty good job, I forgot my ibuprofen this morning. ~L
