Tea Party ********* Sometimes I go to the large cemetery where the sun shines bright, ripples sparkle on a peaceful pond graceful swans I sit, sipping tea and in the twilight, watch as rabbits play Sometimes I go deep into the woods to the little graveyard that lies in darkness completely enclosed by rusted wrought iron, that never bore a gate and in the early dawn, watch as possums crawl out from beneath weathered headstones carrying bloated bellies and satisfied grins the tea tastes the same. *** 1996 Larry F. The imagery weaves like a spell in this poem. I love it ~ I wish, at times, that I wrote like this. Alison |

enjoyed reading this...reminded me of a few old gravestones in Florida, me and my brothers ran across in the woods under a sleepywillow tree, almost totally overgrown that must have been there for a while and seeming to be forgotten...james |
