All That Shine Is it only imagination, When I walk the ocean shore? That glimmering sensation The sands here and there deplore? I'd never really given them thought, Entities all their own... Why but one in each million lot Might be so brightly shone. Perhaps each shore's a galaxy, Each sand, a planet or star; Where only shines the mystery Of life scattered afar. Perhaps each sand's a human soul, All dark, alone by fate; Where all that shine are those made whole In finding their true mate. Perhaps each sand's an ambition, A secret hope or dream; Where few ever find fruition, Ah, but how those that do gleam. Maybe the sands' sole intent Is to remind us day by day, Live your life to its fullest extent... Soon all that shine, too, wash away. Michael Anderson |

quote: Time in contemplation is time well used. It's my opinion that you use yours well. I could say the same if I would have spent more time with each grain of sand rather than bikinis. ...just bein' Bluesy |

Perhaps each sand's an ambition, A secret hope or dream; Where few ever find fruition, Ah, but how those that do gleam. Dear Michael, I deeply enjoyed your poetic ponderings around the grains of sand. Yes, to live to the fullest, is wise advice! Most beautiful! Margherita |

Michael you always make it look so darn easy! I read this a couple of times as I pondered just how many have been scattered over the ocean, and as you say, "Perhaps each sand's a human soul, All dark, alone by fate; Where all that shine are those made whole In finding their true mate." To every dark side there is always light. |

Absolutely fantastic! Can't pick a favorite! Aside from the excellence of the work itself, one would not think this contemplative piece was yours in that it lacks your trademark darkness. Bravo! Lori |

I've walked upon sandy shores that held secrets in their depths...yours, too, hold secrets yet to be found. |

A grain of sand as small as an atom which once split can either make more or blast the universe to oblivion. So much power and more given to a grain of sand. Enjoyed your words and thoughts. Jo |
