Gone, But Not Forgotten (from Faces Of Love) Early morning - Sitting on the porch watching pre-sun fog shroud bushes, trees, patches of yard, first avian singers of the day - Thoughts on you still in bed, drowsing in cooling passion's restful slumber, the smell of you still with me, the touch of you still soft on my hand, your lips still lingering, the rhythmic sounds of slowing heartbeats, still swirling. . . Morning, dawn's softness. . . one, as surely as a mother and unborn child wrapping our souls around and through, over and under, in an homogenous blend of heat and splendor, color and light. Valentines Day, God's own, in the early morning mist. You and I the cause of it all, This day, though only yesterday, this special day, like all the days to come, those . . . I'll spend with you, my Valentine.
