Looking back over my shoulder at what looks like wreckage to me Times and things filled with pain remembered with contempt and distain I carry the shrapnel from forgotten battles in heavy hearted holes of disfigurement Then you tell me I’m beautiful because of who I am You tell me I’m who I am because of where I’ve been You take my wreckage and turn it into art LGR©2/21/14 |

There is always someone to see the true self which is beautiful, where as you might not think so yourself. It is good to have someone like that to tell you the truth. ~*~ It's not that the man did not know how to juggle, he just didn't have the balls to do it. ~*~ |

Marsh, You know what they say about the rose fading. We hate to admit it but the rose does more than that- it shrivels up and all the pretty parts hit the floor. Well, I see signs of shrivel and things headed south. LOL Mom always told me it is what is on the inside that counts. Lori |

Yes she is, but I didn't realize it until I was nearly thirty. |

I love the whole idea here, that one mans "wreckage" if you will, is another man's artful masterpiece. Very cool poem, Lori~ |

Hey Blues- hope the world finds you delighted as you are delightful. The concept of wreck to art I explored in my "Driftwood" series. Maybe I'll dig one out, blow the dust off and run it up the flag pole. Lori |
