I like haikus too Miss Marti! I'm not very good at the longer poems though. Yours was awesome and I loved the picture of the crinkly leaves.

It was just a thought which made them run. It was just an act that killed them.

Ahhh yes! the tenacity of oak leaves to hang on...like us older people in many ways, we just don't feel it's time to let go.

Wonderful poem, and picture.......:-)

The new leaves will push the old off when their buds expand...I have watched the process.

But we (as humans) can be different by encouraging the young to grow, and guiding them as they unfold..

See waht good poetry does to me..it stirs my emotions..
