The sun rises sullen in a soggy spitting sky Dawn’s sleet shows tire tracks on the black top Intermittent wipers skronk across the glass Steam rises from a coffee in the cup holder on the dash as Semis pass and splash quieting the wipers A weekday routine I know too well With only sunrises and weather to break the monotony LGR©2/20/14 |

Love the word, "skronk." I can identify with the rest of this poem, but it has been many years since I've had to make that drive every day. ~*~ Life is simpler when you plow around the stump. ~*~ |

Glad you like my word. I told one of the students and she called me a weirdo. I much prefer "free spirited". With them raising the retirement age, I will be driving until I die LOL. Thanks for commenting my friend. Lori |

It's true Lori. Every time I use the intermittent, the blades go "skronk". So I associate the word and the sound. I often wondered if I was the only one. Sleet or not, is was good to see a little rain for a change. ...just bein' Bluesy |

'Teaser Rain is good! It helps to rinse the highway salt off your car! You can thank me for the rain...I washed my car yesterday! Lori |
