fellows of age a turn of the page candlewax falls from their ears space between words singing of birds logic flows from their beers settled in time struggling for rhyme their pens run from laxative ink set in their ways while Uncle Sam pays for they all must look pretty in pink if I were the one to give them a gun to aim at a bottle or can all hell would break loose quick! Hide the goose we were raising for good neighbor Sam now I know I’ll age then you’ll turn the page and I’ll mourn my pen and my quill if I no longer roam far from bedpans of chrome patronize gently my plight for a fellow of age fresh into my cage I promise never to bite She told me "play one for your supper Danny and maybe you'll get breakfast". |

I resemble that remark (all of'um). . . makes me want to throw away my pen . . . er . . . keyboard . . . laxative ink, eh . . . probably more truth in that line than in any of them . . . ~ If they give you ruled paper, write sideways. ~ |

Tf, There you go cracking me up again! You old geezer! LOL! You are only as old as you feel (or act) and from your writings here I'd say that spans 8-88! ~L |

Some interesting observations except for one, I don’t equate logic with beer, rather the opposite if fact, though that may have to do with the quantity consumed. If it was meant on a pun, I’m with you. An interesting piece to read and reflect on. Cari |

Benny Hill would make this into a song, but I like it just like it is.. Thanks Tick "Poetry is an echo, asking a shadow to dance." |
