man prides himself on standing tall
and yes, there are times when
this is called for
still . . . if standing tall
means to question everything
to sneer at the unknown
standing tall can result in stupidity
to take oneself so important
it deprives him of finding love
because of his sternness
this little poem has
a life’s message
heed it

A poem with a moral message-I like it!

"Poetry is an echo, asking a shadow to dance."

My friend when you used the word stupidity,
I think you hit us all a bit where we live.
Good job, poet! ~L

quote:
"to take oneself so important
it deprives him of finding love
because of his sternness"
Though this message is perennial and indeed should be heeded by one and all, it well describes the behavior of Ebeneezer Scrooge, especially at this time of year.

Superb!

Wasn't calling any names, Lori, but if I did my name would be at the top of that list. Thank you.

I really wasn't thinking of Ebeneezer, Ticklefingers, but that would work, like you said, at this time of the year.

Much to find in this one, don't be a cynic, stand up for what you believe, but keep your mind and heart open, thanks for the reminder. Enjoyed Pete.

Thank you, Pete, yes, always keep an eye inward, that is very important.
