The Republic developed a crack
When President Roosevelt imposed
His own government takeover bid
Yes
I am aware of the Great Depression
Aware something had to be done
Thing is
He went too far
Making a crack in the foundation
Of the Constitution
With the advent of The New Deal
Or was it A Raw Deal?
Since that creeping government takeover
We've been hell-bent
On surrendering our sovereignty
Each preceding president adding to the total
Except for one
President Ronald Reagan
Now we have a monster on our hands
Now we have a man
Ready and willing to destroy an America
He despises
And turn it into a glorified gulag
Armed with his "Private Citizen Army"
Funded more or greater than the regular army
Are they walking the streets already?
Say ACORN . . .
Nobody sees the evil in this?
In this voter intimidation?
The "high, lofty sentiments" which came into play
For the voters of America
Has foolishly turned over to a vowed anarchist
Has scornfully said
The Constitution needs working on
Refuses to pay respect to our flag
Why?
Because he doesn't think it is his flag?
Health care
Global warming
Obamacare
Don't get me started

No system of mans' government, regardless of who sits in a chair or upon a throne has ever lasted. The reign of Man is constructed of little more than Jenga blocks. They're just solid enough to make you think they'll last until a human finger brings it all down.

The wise will prepare more for the fall then for the rise.

Here's to you and here's to me and should we ever disagree, here's to me!

. . . and the only chance of "change" is to kick the Demo's out of office and though I don't much care for the Repo's either, I'll vote for the one I think will win - (I'm staunchly independent and believe in that old idea of voting for the person, not the party - it's not about the blasted party (the people never come out ahead when they vote for the "club"; it's all about the PEOPLE!

Of course, voting guarantees nothing either - it's always fixed or manipulated in the "party's" favor.  (I mean when a group or party can take a the peoples voted choice to court and get it overturned, what the hell rights do the voters have anymore!!!

enough - before I really get started on the sorry state of the U.S.of A.!

Well that was a revelation; I was under the impression (told by my American friends) that America was run by Wall Street, the NRA and those rich enough to buy politicians.

I was a bit puzzled at the word anarchist you labelled on President Obama.
An anarchist is a person who seeks to overturn by violence all constituted forms and institutions of society and government, with no purpose of establishing any other system of order in the place of that destroyed.

I have always thought of Obama as a career Politian, who rightly or wrongly believes in democratic government.

But then I’m not American and we have our own problems.

Rant on, Jimmy, rant on! You are corr3ct, it is the people, not the party, but you must belong to a party to even stand a chance on being elected.

America, Cari, is run by who you said it was, but the real disease is the Democrat Party who continuously runs "in behalf of the downtrodden." But they keep getting elected and the downtrodden are still beat down and in misery.

Cari, Obama has allowed no telling how many ISIS operatives to cross the Mexican/American border. What pray tell does ISIS do day in, day out. Kill people. Overturn governments. This coming year, Obama's (supposedly) last year in office I believe that all hell is going to break loose and since the president cannot be voted out of office during a war, he will continue his reign as president. He is being controlled by unseen people whose aim is destroying America. People scoff at that notion, but just stand by, I personally do not believe h will be voted out of office.

The President can be voted out of office. There is no law that states otherwise.

So...? Vote him out y'all, and then what will you have? Just look back and see what led us to the precipice we find ourselves teetering on.

We've climbed the mountain, reached the pinnacle and there is nowhere else to go but down.

My engine is turning over, but it hasn't yet started. I think I'll break the key off in the ignition and walk as far as I can get. Martini is right folks and Mr. Beards final comments are also correct.

In a terribly selfish way JerryPat (and being culpable to the furthest extent of my proverbial 'share'), I'm glad I lived during a relatively brief period where everything seemed okay (emphasis on 'seemed'). There was a little jingle in your pocket, wheels were cool and easy to get, work was everywhere and the parties were endless, or so we thought.

I should have worked harder to perfect my time machine. But I didn't need it then.

Yeah, you're so right about frittering away our chances at a lot of things, and when we really need them we have lost the way of doing them.

I'm lucky at least to have my Billy with me or I'd be kinda scared. You know what I mean?

It was just a thought which made them run. It was just an act that killed them.

I happy you have your Billy with you also, DV. I hope it never comes to to a point where Billy must assert himself, but I know that the protection of you is in his thoughts night and day. What a fortunate woman you are, and I know he is just as fortunate to have you in his life.
