They watched her fail. They watched her rise. They watched her try. They watched her win. They snorted. For they Wished her to lose. She smiled at them Because she could. ©November 23, 2015 / Jerry Pat Bolton ~*~ When they give you ruled paper write sideways. ~*~ [This message has been edited by JerryPat2 (11-28-2015 04:56 PM).] |

"She" in your poem is not someone known to me, yet the air of familiarity tells me I've known her all my life. Such strength of character is is an exceedingly attractive virtue. You wrote of it beautifully. Here's to you and here's to me and should we ever disagree, here's to me! |

Thank you, Mr Martini, "she" is every woman, and no woman. She is the embodiment of what we give to one another, and what we receive from the same. Thank you for your thoughts. ~*~ When they give you ruled paper write sideways. ~*~ |

I could think of various scenes which this scene could play out - figure skating, horse riding competition..etc. but no matter, the description is powerful, sets the mood of capturing a very strong woman. |

Thank you, jjote. It can play out in physical endeavors, certainly, but it can also play out in how we go about living our lives. ~*~ When they give you ruled paper write sideways. ~*~ |
