One day I will tell you about an old river streaming over the rocky bottom of the river bed providing the solvent of life by cutting her own banks, occasionally overflowing. I will tell you of her clear waters which made face reflect face. One day I will tell you about this pool of wisdom running wild in some unexpected turns testing her full measure meandering through, continuously flowing I will tell you although not always visible for others, this river ran deep. One day I will tell you about this ancient force of nature rushing towards the ocean, unaware of her strength quenching everyone’s thirst, sharing her soul, as her tides came and went. One day I will tell you about this life force that entered our lives as ‘the little old wise one’. |

I really like the Chanting quality about this piece. It makes me think of the spoken word of tribal lore. I especially love this line, "providing the solvent of life by cutting her own banks". Very nice. smiles, Constance |

Shalisadefa - I remember a river like that in my home town as probably most of us can. It seemed to carry secrets in its stream. Nice work Shalisadefa. Namyh |

This poem is so personal that I never really expected anyone to comment, but you did. Thank you. A special thanks to Margherita for welcoming me back. I remember that you were also welcoming me my first time posting in Pip back in 2009. I appreciate it. |
