I can’t bear to dream again
and so,
I shall keep away
from sleep,
take off my dreamer’s shoes.
and refuse to go.
Instead
I will tread barefoot
in deep snow.
I will summon a slice
of moon to mark the
dark door I close behind
and let ice
burn me blind.
I will turn
toward the wind
and weave a wreath
which I shall leave then
beneath the white
of waking.
This will be a walk
worth taking,
if I do not dream again.

Lots of imagery here, and my favorite, "I shall take off my dreamer's shoes and never go (to sleep?)"...and "I shall summon a slice of moon to mark the dark door I leave behind"... Enjoyed this,

Constance, Love your beautiful metaphors,
my favorite lines..I will tread barefoot
in deep snow.
I will summon a slice
of moon to mark the
dark door I close behind
and let ice
burn me blind.

Wonderful write Poetess.

Impressive write, dear Constance. Poetically excellent, no doubt. But I for one will never take off my dreamer's shoes ... Of course there are dreams of very different kinds, but mostly I enjoy dreaming with open eyes. Dream-matter molds some wondrous artworks ....

Love,
Margherita

Your poetry Constance, reads like the subtle wafting of a gentle breeze upon which a hurricane rides.

Have you now found yourself feeling stronger than your adversities?

It is my belief that you have.

Thank you for reading me.

Here's to you and here's to me and should we ever disagree, here's to me!

The wreath itself is a dream... in memory of dreaming. Enjoyed.
Thanks
Pete
