Relative Denial

Relative denial, you just feign what you can't see.
A lifetime spent on trial, don't know how or who to be.
The endless accusations, so damn hard to sift the lies.
Cold hearted manipulations all painted to sweet soft sighs.

Where's forever's been spent fighting, but you're not sure you've made way,
When there's no use delighting in the ruins left to decay.
You reach beneath the surface to pull forth what you can't hold...
One eyebrow raised to hearts misphazed, a kiss to lip ice-cold.

Time spent, the declaration of a love that never was,
Stumbling through degradation like any true soldier does;
Damnation of the soul means naught, pressed to her body heat.
Yet you're not sure just what you've wrought embracing her deceit.

You hear the whispers, feel the eyes, 'pon cold and empty trail.
Speak truth, but know just what that vies to hearts not of avail.
You work the corners of recall in staunch, but hybrid view.
Until you come to the blank wall of all you thought you knew.

The canvas blank, the  image stark, oh, to make the two one...
You pour your soul unto the dark, let the emptiness run.
Wings on the sky of black heed not, shuffle and disappear.
Death drawn, the cry of angels sought, who gave their wings to fear.

The judgments lain, you've no ill will, for they but loved her too.
All while your warmth turned to a chill none ever could see through.
Your soul still hers, forever bound, you begged the words recanted;
Want, your prison, all hopes unfound, eyes ever disenchanted

Let sorrow reign, let love disdain... Time alone sift the ashes.
As sky caves in, lays waste your sin of love with lightning's crashes.
This storm a wall, weak in free fall, it's tomorrow you're missing.
That cold shadow all come to know; it's but your hand Death's kissing.

Liked these two opening lines very much Michael.
