In sunlight and shadow from where to where dragonfly ! trees laced in morning mist the grass with jewels of dew Summer dawn lonely woods shadow of a stranger a loon's cry suddenly missing the dead all the world of Summer floats in this lake of dreams Distant evening bells then only cicada calls Summer passing My love for you was the morning star In both lightning and the thunder there is enlightenment Late Summer sunset clouds peacefully resting on shade mountain --- b. e. adams (8/3/2015) |

Ahhh . . . Beautifully written . . . haikoids, Bruce. I checked out haikoids. Couldn't find much on it except someone by the name of Gus Ferguson invented haikoid. I have failed to find a description of how the haikoid is written. In your poem, although beautifully written, I realized there were many stanza's with different syllables. Doesn't look like something I would get into although, as I said, I liked your poem was received well by me. ~*~ When they give you ruled paper write sideways. ~*~ |

Each part of this is a separate (and unrelated to the others) 'mini-poem' ... this type of Chinesesque/Japanesesque Zen poetry is Haiku-like (but without the exact 5/7/5 syllable count, etc.) hence the name "Haik-oid" (they're Haiku-like ... but not quite real Haiku). |

I can imagine you sitting on the edge of the woods as you write or paint...james |

Thanks JM ! There is no greater 'cathedral' than a forest (particularly a Sequoia forest) |
