Train Track Boogie when I was a young boy our family lived in Japan for about three years, we traveled there by ship, I was about 13 til fifteen; when we first arrived we lived off base for awhile waiting for on base housing, the Japanese home we lived in had a wonderful metal roof and each time it rained it made quite a racket. Just down the street was a train track and when the train passed thru at night you could hear the whistles and the place would vibrate and make funny disturbed noises. Me and my brothers had to explore where the trains came from so on one summer afternoon we walked the tracks, about a few miles North there was a small stream with the train track bridge passing over and from there we could see the train coming from far away, we could feel the train vibrations but not accurately guage the speed of the trains, so we decided to walk the bridge before the train and we figured if a train showed up to fast we could run a little and if absolutely necessary jump from the bridge to the stream below, actually it wasn't much of a stream, it was narrow and slow flowing, and not so deep, we had noticed water moccasans in the water, so it wasn't inviting us in, still we had to walk that track to show each other how daredevil we were, or was it to show everyone how stupid we were, in those days we were called the Lee gang because there were 6 children, a big family compared to most and small compared to some. No Heavenly Father, or related subject, James? (That was uncalled for!) It's fine walking those tracks, I guess most children have done the same at one time or another. I know I have. ~*~ When they give you ruled paper write sideways. ~*~ [This message has been edited by JerryPat2 (07-16-2015 11:21 PM).] |

I love these stories. As a young girl I lived on roller skates. The bridge use to turn out to let big boats go by.All the kids ran and jumped on the bridge to take the ride out over the water.I am sure I just skated on.Today that would be a big No NO LOL No one ever fell in. thanks for your story.,o Perry |
