For the Mother of My Children

One Day
you said you didn't
love me any more
but did you really
love me the days before?

Surely this much is true,
I never knew what love was,
how about you?

And as your words
of love faded out
the times of me
and you ran out.

One day
a long time ago
I chose pain and suffering
that came with unforgiveness,

Today I choose
the better choice
which is love
and forgiveness.

It is a choice,
it is a process,
with your life experiences
having different results
depending upon your choice.

"A Night Without Armour"

I'm Writing to Tell You

Neither of us ever loved
the other truly-
you only thought you did
and I only wanted to.

Jewel...1999

I fit in that poem somewhere.

Interesting . . . The construction of a poem on PiP. Actually, James, I enjoyed it very much . . .

well stated, wish I did not relate so well; wish that for you, too.

Whether on the shoal or on the shore,
I'll seek the lighthouse evermore.
