I loved each and every line in this one, Virginia. After reading it I read it again. It gave me comfort, making me want to take my sweet Zoe to the park, but it is much too hot, maybe later this afternoon. ~*~ When they give you ruled paper write sideways. ~*~ |

Thanks, Jerry! We're headed for triple digits beginning Friday and going for at least another 10 days after that. Fortunately, the parks where we go for music are next to the river and it doesn't start until 7. Usually cools down enough by then and we borrow every ounce of shade we can muster! Thank you all, it was a very nice evening. Quite a talented singer, pianist and guitarist with a bit of charisma thrown in. Then there was the river and the trees, happy listeners and pets lolling in the reminiscence of music. (Wow, that word doesn't look right, but spell check didn't argue.) Very nice, my friend, and glad you enjoyed it. Me, I don't enjoy sitting in the heat, sweating, swatting mosquitoes or flies, in a throng of others (I don't like crowds) . . . no matter what the "show". Don't misunderstand, I spend a lot of time in the heat, sweating, among others of my ilk, feeding mosquitoes and being a salt-lick, watering hole to the flies: but I don't always enjoy it, no matter the entertainment. God . . . isn't life wonderful (LOL)!!! enjoyed your piece j. |

jwesley, we have Vector Control here that does a marvelous job of protecting us, as West Nile has been found in mosquitos in the area. I know people still are victims of the bites, but it is far less than when I first moved to this area. Even by the river we have respite. My Pomeranian mix finds moths, etc. to chase, but that adds to the evening as well; it can be quite comical. Some nights the music can seem to merely repeat itself, though the songs are different. This particular evening, the artist was quite varied in his presentation and delightful. Thanks, glad you liked the poem. Whether on the shoal or on the shore, |
