Wishes That Remain When you're under the impression of weather, the thundering is a rising go getter but my heart shape can do ya one better oh I know that dance and all the magic of a lusty trance When your silly impression of feeling alone cuts too damn close to the bone in a soul resembling cracks in highway 61 there might be a chance a slim finger-fit barely touching romance If it feels like this then hey that's more than okay if I seal my fate and cut off oxygen to the brain it'll be okay 'cause I'm counting down these wishes that remain Fear that's irrational is really only natural, like algae that clings to your hull but you lead me on your magnetic pull yeah I feel it in me you drain all my powers effortlessly Smiles that crest over red painted lips breath that greets your fingertips coo the words that launched a thousand ships mhmm all lost at sea cork and bottle and a stolen hotel key If it feels like that then oh maybe I should go if I slip my tongue on words sacred and profane and let it show these emotions in motion like wishes that remain And if if she dances to a tune I cut from the stone from past romances come up nil left alone until she decided to throw me a bone in this friendzone sleeping inside and outside the rain warmed by itty bitty wishes that remain And oh I know that dance and all the magic of a lusty trance... If it feels like this then hey that's more than okay if I seal my fate and cut off oxygen to the brain it'll be okay 'cause I'm counting down these wishes that remain And if love feels like this then oh what the hell if I case the beauty in your eyes that I know so well where I fell is a sacred spot I treasure like wishes that remain and every single wish I'd spend to wax and wane in your sky forever baby hanging on to the gorgeous possibilities of the word "maybe" Wishes that remain hey baby I'd spend 'em all on you just to feel the flame "Heaven is paved with broken glass, |

There could be several poems in this writing of yours. So many cool thoughts to consider. Reading "a soul resembling highway 61" was among the many I found interesting. I've spent a lot of time on 61 from top to bottom and a soul like that is worthy of poetic consideration. Dylan wrote a tune about it in the 1960's called "Highway 61 Revisited". Good work SD. A good read that was much enjoyed. Regards from Bluesy ...just bein' Bluesy |

Always wishing you the best, soul drifter~ |
