I sit facing the setting sun
on the bank of Bayou Lafourche
something caused me to
try and count the things I have done
this day
to ease the heart of anyone
a rough and gruff man
has been my nature
looking at the world as something
to wrestle and brawl
eh . . .
it is a natural fact
however that I have retracted
my clawing nature
I awake each new day
eager to mend fences and put smiles
on the faces of those
who come into contact with me
a good feeling, almost alien in nature
it all comes from
my unchained heart
my dwindling days
look, from where I’m sitting
to be bright and sunny
who’d a thunk it?

I spent many a day mad as hell and fighting the world, Jer, until I noticed one day no one was fighting back, and the things I thought so important were really of little merit.  Kind of what this poem reminded me of.  Truly is better to view life from *this vantage point me thinks.

Oh, you are, as they say, right on, Michael. I finally "got right" with the world, but it was a long process. I am very happy where I am today within my thoughts. A great feeling. Thanks for reading and commenting on my offering . . .

Music to my heart!  God answers prayers even when you aren't the one praying. Who'd a thunk it? Why, I have always believed in miracles. ~L

Lori, Lori, Lori . . . You are so sweet . . . Thank you for those prayers you never said . . . They were special . . . Especially those containing miracles . . .

Can't quite relinquish my claws to
this world tho, hun. (not when I *needs-em
to fend the shite of some things out there)
*wondering if I cud break even w/claws aaand sunshine.. hmmm (lol)

"try and count the things I have done
this day
to ease the heart of anyone"
~when you've found your own ease (like here) those who care- exhale & follow suit. In *that, you've accomplished *this

Enjoyed your sunshine, be wells Jerry!

Oh, I quite understand reasons why you can't relinquish your claws, Tanya, there are predators out there. I am enjoying my sunshine, thank you for your comments . . .
