She stands in the rain

That's how I see her now
Waving as she leaves
Salt tears lost to the storm

Its a fantasy
A dream that I hold
A fiction to forgive myself

In reality here I stand
No tears falling for me
No-one waves me away

It is true, she is gone
As they are all gone
She was just the last

Now my arms are empty
My tears the only ones that fall
and no storm to take them

I earn my final broken heart
I earn the perfect silence
With which I share my bed

This is my full stop
My sentence ends
My stories quaint savage tragedy

I bought my own pain
With each piece of myself
One at a time I surrender

I sit in the shadow
Watching the sun
just beyond my reach

And I wish for the rain

I aint as good as I once was but I'm as good, once, as I ever was. - Toby Keith

this is very emotional, kind of story we can't forget, sad ending but you have to hope again

Really admire the connection you paint 'tween rain and your lost love.

Best wishes to you!

Oh this is torturous, Walter.  I relate to this very well:
quote:
I earn my final broken heart
I earn the perfect silence
With which I share my bed
this one bleeds, and bleeds well.
