I’ve Got You As you lie quiet in your bed, I hold you from afar; Not sure I’ve got it through your head just how special you are. The miles stretched beyond what’s fair, somehow you still feel near. I whisper to the Lord a prayer, then wipe a silent tear. The suffering your going through, it cuts into my soul. I’m just not sure what I can do—know not how to console You, in this moment of distress, with time drawn to a crawl. Or if this long distance caress could comfort you at all. The pain I feel—the frustration, the anger and despair. The slow and steady deflation of the hopes you’ve laid bare. Sleep now, Sweetness, I won’t wake you, for your dreams are my own. Just wake to know all you go through you’ll never face alone. Michael Anderson 5/05/2015 |

We can be right beside someone who is in deep need and still too far to reach them, to touch them with caring. Some of this reminds me of hanging onto time when I have to let go...when the choice is gone because it wasn't mine to make. Feeling helpless to be a help, a heart, an encouragement. It sounds at the end of this that there's still time for hope, love, life. Embrace it all. Whether on the shoal or on the shore, |

Heart-rendering piece of writing, Michael. I felt your words as I read them and could actually paint a picture in my mind about the sad situation. It is a tragic feeling when you can't reach out and touch someone mentality and spiritually in times such as this. This poem grabbed me. ~*~ When they give you ruled paper write sideways. ~*~ |

This one grabbed me too, and shook me good. Your heart shines so bright and it's a gorgeous thing! Yes, caresses help- long distance or no. Just don't hurt too much ok? I pounce fer hugs T [This message has been edited by devina (05-06-2015 05:35 PM).] |

Vas, quote:That's exactly what I intend to do. Jer, yeah, completely overwhelming at times. Thank you for the kind words. Tanya, working on an endless ((hug)) generator for you. Get them pouncing shoes ready! Lori, thank you. As much as I've wanted to write something lighter, this truth is the motivation behind this one has been one of the most painful things I've ever experienced. I wish I could take her place. Michael |

The suffering your going through, it cuts into my soul. I’m just not sure what I can do—know not how to console You, in this moment of distress, with time drawn to a crawl. Your words often strike such a chord they play a symphony for someone whose circumstances are totally different from your inspiration. That is the case here... for I lived these words last week, laying a beloved aunt to rest, helpless to help. Being "there" emotionally is far more supportive than physical presence could ever be without the empathy your words convey so beautifully. |

Michael, This is an absolutely beautiful piece of writing. I felt every word from deep within your heart! Really just perfect. |
