This One This one’s for the devil—he handed me the cue. This one’s for the whisper in a heart still held true. This one’s for the razor that cut from me my soul. And this one’s for a lifetime falling through that blackened hole. This one’s for the losers, and for wounds that never mend. This one’s for the accusers, and a sentence without end. This one’s for the music, different beat, the same ol’ drum. And this one’s for tomorrow, may it never ever come! Yes, this one’s for forever; doesn’t seem too steep a price. This one’s just for the notion, though you never could play nice. This one’s for the ridicule, the torment of my days… And this last, for a tired old man, who never changed his ways. this one, is a good one! I don't know how you managed to repeat that phrase and not have it get monotonous. in my hands it would have met a terrible fate. ~L |

Great poetry, Michael. I am not at all surprised, you manage to crank the great ones out quite regularly. ~*~ When they give you ruled paper write sideways. ~*~ |

Lori, the secret is I was counting shots as I wrote this... Would've been longer probably but couldn't even hold a pen near the end. Jer, you give me too much credit me thinks. Tanya, 3 days home from work left me with a little too much time on my hands. I should probably thank all of you for your tolerance. Thanks ...and you accuse me of having too much insight, there was indeed only one image, and voiceprint, in my head when I wrote that line. Ahem! Am I that obvious? Michael |
