This is Where You Come In I'm a drifter lost, tossed, just another grain of shifting sand counting up the cost an escape clause and a broken diamond in my hand I slide along in this untouched skin this junk is wearing thin, darling, tell me now, this is where you come in I'm a carousel but the boardwalk parade has past me by going up for sale bitter is the taste and all the scattered reasons why I await this sickle of moonlight to go down without a fight honey, tell me now, this is when you come into sight This is my heart, a harbor for your smile patched up and makeshift, actual miles say you'll settle for this used but passionate man who's sick of standing 'round, picking up the pieces of a well thought-out plan so darling, show me how you're gonna be the frame that fits me right honey, tell me now this is when you come into sight I'm a rambler rose in the throes of dispassionate displacement painting garden rows along the jagged coastline of disenchantment I glide along in this uneven rhythm this junk is doing me in, so baby, show me how this is when you come in This is my soul, set aflame by your eyes threadbare and in too deep, cut down to size say you'll settle for this weary but readymade man who's sick of sitting here, stitching back together this surrender flag in his hand so darling, tell me how you're gonna be my rocket ride through the light honey, show me now this is when you come into sight Oh and I'm a drifter lost, tossed, just another grain of shifting sand counting up the cost an escape clause and a broken diamond in my hand I slide along in this untouched skin everything is wearing thin, darling, tell me now, this is where you come in So darling, show me how, you're gonna be the frame that fits me right honey, tell me now this is when you come into sight tell me, tell me when this is when you come in "He turns his money into light to look for her" - U2, 'Lemon' |

I really like this! It would make a great song (but what do I know, I'm not a musician) I just know what I like and I like this!~L |

felt a familiar old *ker-plunk of my own at: "...This is my heart, a harbor for your smile patched up and makeshift, actual miles..." I hope 'that-someone' comes in soon! ~d Open arms can be the most fragile in the world... |

"I am a drifter, tossed, another grain in a shifting sand"...this image caught me, stayed in my mind after I came to the end of your poem. Hope the waiting for that someone to come in will be all worth it. |
