Thought I'd Tried |

That rainbow burnt before my eyes- my "never-walk" wears no disguise. I lie in wait- strength gone below, cant see too far- past that rainbow. The stars stay safe just out of sight- (no virgin winks at me) These empty walls may just be right- and darkness eats and eats. Trapped am I, still no disguise a whisper and a plea. I siphon Hope from those I love (won't bother mine- she's up and died) Belittle me, I do each day- refuse to gaze at my own face. For most of me, is crumbled throne was always soft, yet hard as stone. My never-walk dances tonight- upon a shell I'd once called home. Laughter bubbles in minds' eye- I hiccup once, eyes long past dried. Save myself? I thought I'd tried. Open arms can be the most fragile in the world... I siphon Hope from those I love That's what they're there for... to sustain you until you can stand again. Painful and poignant write! |

You wear your darkness beautifully, T. Love the "never-walk" aspect you create here. Often we are victims of our own unwillingness to move forward from a bad situation till everything we were striving to hold onto has crumbled around us where awaking to nothing we still refuse to move. You're writing has grown so much. A pleasure to read. Michael |

Powerful, my friend, well phrased - very Michael-est, and that's not a bad thing... and for the 2nd time tonight, I'm going to let southern's comment speak for me . . . (beginning to worry about how she knows what I'm thinking...) enjoyed j. |

Kickass poetry, devina, you assembled all the words and arranged them superbly. ~*~ When they give you ruled paper write sideways. ~*~ |

Just wonderful poetic relanguaging. I found it deeply engrossing but simply resolving. |

"Open arms can be the most fragile in the world" Only when they are empty. Once filled with some one, child or adult they are very strong indeed. Very good writing and thoughts ditto Michael Suthern and others. Jo Perry |
