I said goodbye to iced mountains and streams I said goodbye to forty below I said goodbye to Iditarod dreams And left behind springs covered In snow. Pear trees dispalay flowers bright white Horsese and cows laze in green fields Mountains framed by hazy blue light Rows of red dirt offer their yield With eyes wide open Sharp sense are keen Flowers are blooming No ice to be seen Sure, I'll miss the home of my birth There is much to learn in this new place Every home has its own worth Spring days framed by blossoms of lace. - Alison |
