I Keep Myself Like Rain Here's a nickel for the machine 'Layla' is perfect for the pain there's a torn picture of me and a crossed out name oh sometimes I don't even know why I try these days love never feels the same and the road maps have bled themselves dry but me I keep myself like rain I fall every now and then into the blue of your eyes There's a sickness in everything all that I can't ever abide here's a broken down dream another hope has died oh sometimes love wears a see-through disguise and some days love's a runaway train tonight a thirsty fang moon will rise till then I'll keep myself like rain and fall time and time again for the beauty in your lies With you and your crucial gaze and your heart like a purple haze got your breakdowns all neatly arranged still you say I'm the one whose deranged oh baby strange for you I keep myself like rain sailing 'round the sea in an upside down umbrella well well Another nickel for the machine 'Alison' is a perfect cure another torn picture of me the other half is hers oh sometimes I'm slow to finally realize these days love is keeping me sane and the road maps have said their last goodbyes oh and me I keep myself like rain I fall every now and then into the blue of your eyes and time, time and time again for the beauty in your lies "He turns his money into light to look for her" - U2, 'Lemon' |

A masterpiece, soul drifter! Poetry at its very best! I hope this isn't autobiographical, but if it is, LOOK what you did with your pain! You splashed it on canvas for perpetuity for others to imbibe and relate and admire! Owl |

The title of this one pulled me in to read it, and I wasn't disappointed. I like the rhythm and the rhyme is good. It's unforced and compelling, and the images don't take a back seat to the form by any means. I really enjoyed it. Nan (Pilgrim variety) |
