Mantra Sometimes I purge, though long to paint. The brush, my pen, once knew no bounds. A mighty surge, with no restraint, The blood-hymn of tomorrow sounds. The voice within, itself a call; I follow through this unseen rain. A charge of sin, the voice of all, It binds me to this senseless pain. A gift, unsung, surely festers, And so I sing—and so I must. The soul been wrung, Time sequesters The offering—grinds it to dust. Still I recall a yesterday Of sunrises—of sure acclaim. When I touched all, in my own way, No compromises to my name. Now ‘watch become of tired eyes, This lack of inspiration swell, All to the drum of my own lies. My only kin, I’ve fed them well. If once possessing ‘artist’s touch, My stricken hand today seems cursed. Mind obsessing, overly much… This voice, now damned, was lovely first! Michael Anderson 3/07/2015 |

Don't think I've ever read anything by you that wasn't first rate, including this piece. There are fewer readers these days, but those who drift back here upon occasion, certainly enjoy seeing the names of old friends still amount these pages. I remember back 15 years, I seem to recall PIP getting something like 25000 hits per day and Ron scurrying to update the site to handle the traffic (bless him). Hopefully PIP will still be here in another 15 years, setting the pace for other boards to follow |

Brilliant! Pretty much where I'm at at the moment but, yes, that voice was lovely first. |

Your voice is still strong. I do come back to read here and your poetry is always a welcome sight. |

Hah, you have described me very well.... a reminder of how the cursed muse leaves us to stand on our own.... Very nicely done. |
