My gorgeous friend my darling girl I miss your smile your loving eyes your gentle ways your soft voice my friend, my sister, my confidant I'm missing you with all my being my thoughts often return to you with just a single word or memory of special places travelled my fondest memories are the one's we shared never to share again! but I will return to some of those places once more and I will know that you are with me in spirit I will be comforted by the memories of our past I miss you my darling girl I always will you were one in a million and noone would ever come close to replacing my friend, my sister, my confidant! ~~~ missing my gorgeous sister in law who passed away last year from breast cancer, she was such a special person, loved by everyone who had the privilege to meet her. We shared many wonderful, inspiring, happy moments and these moments thankfully will stay with me forever ![]() Love is the life of the soul... |

I am sorry for your loss. "Untimely" transitions (if I can express it like that considering that to those who remain it always seems too early) hurt even more. You have written a beautiful poem about this special lady. I think she will indeed travel in spirit with you when you will go to those places you visited together. Love and hugs. Margherita |

What a sad, sad thing to have happened to your sister-in-law, and it is doubly a pity that after all this time they haven't found a way to prevent this, and other, horrible diseases from even happening. ~*~ When they give you ruled paper write sideways. ~*~ |

thank you my dear friends, your comments are appreciated. Jerry you are so right! too many people are still loosing their lives to this dreadful disease & one would think that we would have a cure by now ![]() My mum was also diagnosed with breast cancer in December but thankfully she is one of the lucky ones. She had her breast removed & they found NO cancer cells in her lymph nodes thank goodness! Love is the life of the soul... |

lucky for your mom but sorry for the loss of your sister in law. This disease is such a relentless traitor, one never knows when it comes and to whom, and when it does, one is simply defenseless. The pain really never goes away, but hopefully it will diminish with time, and the good memories remain. |

Never easy, my friend, especially close to home. Sometimes the cynic in me wonders if the reason cancer isn't cured or well on it's way to being so, is because there's "no" money in curing it, even at the exorbitant prices the pharmaceutical companies charge for everything while continuing to make record profits (I just had some "generics" double in price from one month to the next, while nothing else has changed - something wrong in that picture??). anyway...good piece...enjoyed, j. |

You honor her well in this poem Tracie. You leave the reader with the feeling she was someone who could have been their friend too. Someone they would have liked to have met. And they know they missed out on something special. Also in sharing your sadness you do it in such a way that celebrates the life you shared and I think that is very special. I'm sure she felt blessed to have YOU in her life too. The only consolation, that cancer and other diseases like it that slowly take our loved ones, is that it gives us an opportunity to say all the things we need to say. ~L |
