. Not brittle-glass nor mullioned flesh. Works of sinew, bone and thinning skin. Not for me— Such windows of wind-shuttered, shadow-cluttered eye and soul. Nor of roundel eyes, where from a blind old soul may seem to see. No, no! No! My eyes, if they are pretty, are yours, for you. And yours for mine and a world to raise! —I'd hope. They— Each but a mirror-through that we may hold our side-by-side in space And admire. Admire, each— Our chosen friend. I know. I do. . |

Agree (and enjoyed your poem) with both you and Jerry ... I was served in a fast food joint the other day by a young lady that had the most beautiful eyes I have seen in years (blue, and yes I told her so) --- this piece brought them back to me. enjoyed, j. |
