Love, like the dust upon a sunbeam Like a wind storm swirling by Always leaving then returning On a never ending ride Like a comet from some lost world Burning up with ancient coals Like a roulette wheel turning Filling gambling hearts with hope Like a soft inviting beckoning Past the reason of all grace And the earth is like a spaceship Spinning madly out of pace Past some magic you define Deep within your haunted mind. Like a vision that you follow To make sure it's yours alone As your heart becomes a cistern Filled with springs of boiling foam Where your thoughts have never watered Down the dreams you've always held In a bath of self improvement Where you just can't be yourself And the caution of your memories Have become some rolling dice While the hands of father time Are hidden from your vice And the earth is like a spaceship Spinning madly out of pace Past some magic you define Deep within your haunted mind. Words that echoed in your novice Thoughts that burned within your head Why do they smolder softly Why have they changed their breadth Like waves spill from the ocean Covering footprints in the sand It's the mercy of becoming The age to understand That drumming of your heartbeat Was a vehicle of worth Where love has come to reckon With the miracle of birth And the remnants of your trip Fill in the perfect spaces While the earth is like a spaceship Spinning madly out of pace Past some magic you define Deep within your haunted mind. |
