I'd like to drink a little beer, Fruity in the raspberry or in the pear, for making the evening cozy, And what bubbles go up in my head, A small whimsical beer, One to whom we give the spanking As to a provocating brunette, A beer which knows Belgium Or who likes Ireland, A beer which makes vague the solitude, And on Sundays which ends, A happy or unfortunate beer, Which does not know why we drink her, But a beer which offers itself without mattering, I would like to drink a little beer To think less in tomorrow, To take advantage of the moment which fits me .. |

Ahhh, Yann you could have written that poem for me for it pretty much said everything that needed saying. Although I would have to substitute cheap California burgundy for the beer. ~*~ When politicians give up on liberty, it falls to poets to preserve it. Or write its epitaph. ~*~ |

You have brought smiles with this well conceived poem, dear Yann. You really said this very well, enjoying a cozy moment. I have never liked beer (nor other alcoholic drinks, except champagne for the special events ), but when I was in Belgium recently my son in law brought one of those fruity beers and I loved it very much! Yes it was Raspberries ... mmmmm! Good that I can't find it here! Much enjoyed. Love, Margherita |
