So Far... Light the stars baptism for this too, too sinful town there you are it's not too far to the pulsating heartbeat sound sweet taste of contentment pound out all these dents from half a life set against the wind polish the bones of commitment such a heady heady scent suddenly, there you are and here I am so here we are so far Fight the wars these truths and lies that always betray who we are it's not too hard to see the sun for the milky way bitter the pill of resentment decode what she meant from a buzz of laughter, tears and sighs just as fast as a broken spirit flies such a weighty, weighty prize suddenly, here we are and there I go so there you are so far Listing hard to starboard struck dumb by the power of your word running with scissors backward through all my useless dreaming running her hands through my hair and the stars kept on gleaming against the blue-black skin so fair night like a hurricane of daggers in my eyes maybe someday we'll rise set against a renewing tide that cries somewhere on the other end of day, sweet decay tracing the roadmap lines in this wreck of a car so here we are so far Darken the moon exorcism of this crazy, crazy world there I am it's not too far communique to a brown-eyed girl bittersweet taste of sentiment such honey, money well spent on a midnight promise in elegant dress full of half-lit understandings of love the spider bite in every caress oh so suddenly there you are and there I am so far so far away Carsick the night of a thousand pinpricks and the world won't stop spinning around so far is the distance measured, a sun becomes a star oh so suddenly you just happen to be a baptism for this too, too sinful town and there's a pulsating heartbeat sound deep inside and the beat's so mean it'll scratch and kick and bite so let's blink away the light right where we are so far Such a heady, heady, scent suddenly, there you are and here I am so here we are so content so far... I mean your songs should be sung...i always identify with the whirlwind of emotions and tap my foot to my first memory of love and longing...and find myself wanting to get up and dance and to memorize every word to every verse and imagine the music...each poem you post is my new favorite song..and when I close my eyes there is a sweet memory there as it were, in what seems like a lifetime ago. |
