are you hearing us
we the black people
everywhere we look
we are rejected
by the ones who
have been telling us
lies
the same ones who point fingers
at the other political party
democrats
you have been lying to us for decades
blaming the other party
for our misery
we never seem to get any better
we're wising up to your lies
fact is
the democrats have been in power
many times
we are still in the bottom of the barrel
we know your masquerade
you only come around when it is
election time
you don't stand with us
like we stood with Doctor King
our neighborhoods
look like a war zone and that's because
it is a war zone
kids with no direction
to follow
except the gang ideology
using the gang for absent fathers
if they are lucky enough to survive
without being killed
most of the spend the biggest part of their life
in the joint
prison
the democrats receives millions and millions
of dollars
and when they are in power in congress
and the White House
with all that money
at that disposal
why are the children
living in rat-infested housing
democrats
you blame the other party
for our demise
but it is YOU who put us on a
cotton plantation
where the "massa" feeds us a little
each day
same with the food stamp program
damn!
we are waking up
we are the suppressed
we're in the desperation time
we have
the right to be heard
we are the hungry
we are the darkness
we are envious
that we live in shacks
and the democrats
who are in state or federal
positions live in mansions and
don't think about us
until it is time to vote
we are waking up
