In Closing as a spinning top slows, the year draws to an end teetering life’s drama with elections, hourly changes, holiday traditions and weather’s unprecedented, unpredictable commencement. short-timer, Father Time, ticks away his hours, growing tired and more willing to withdraw into eternity’s past, setting aside melancholy and loss, rather reveling in memory and glee of the positive evidenced strap on truth, knowledge gained, trials won over, songs, dances delighted in smiles, laughter shared, tears wiped dry and life’s music melodically entertained thanking God above, for all, as being grateful is His will for our eternity in Him ©Virginia Salter November 1, 2014 (hoping I have heard His inspiration well) Whether on the shoal or on the shore, |

I am really loving this. The rewind and fast forwardness...All in the blink of an eye. Makes one reflect on what was and is and will be. It's all good, really really good. |

Thank you, Blues! ...for reading and taking time to comment and comment so sweetly and quickly. It is really odd, my clavicles are still aching from reading jwesley's shocker. Your comment will hasten the easing of that pain, as least I'm hoping. Whether on the shoal or on the shore, |

Taking on the seasons, Old Man Time and the in's and out's of our daily lives, the holiday and Christmas is all part of the Old Man Time to close his eyes and give way to the Fresh Face and a little bit naive 2015. If they give you ruled paper write sideways. |

Excellent. As for me I would like to to go away from today until January. Getting to be an old foggy about Holidays. Too much to think about over the next few months.but I did enjoy your story. Jo Perry |

Actually, this was sparked by my visit to astronomy picture of the day for today. After I visit the current day's offering, I scroll down to a past year's list. Early in the year, it takes quite a while to reach the last date viewed. As the year progresses, I reach it more quickly. Today, it was very quick, being only 2 months left of the year. This started me to thinking of how rapidly the year was coming to a close. As the poem went onto the page, I felt further inspired by the blessing of the Lord in my life and how I travel the year with His Spirit blessing my joys and trials. Bringing me through so many things and to such wonderful moments. Thus the closing after the poem's date. The year goes more quickly each year owing to I'm in my last of the 60's decade for me.
