the knotted, gnarled old cypress tree hundreds of years old maybe more stands alongside the bayou a gnarled old man stands 'neath the tree what memory he has left to dream it is spent thinking about Elin and happy days passionate was their love many hours spent 'neath the old cypress and the bayou's moon gave solace to their union just relax, darlin' this is the Big Easy folks have a certain way o' doin' things down here.*
