throughout history all have been pillaged and deceived keeping people Charles Dickens poor wretchedness, hopelessness the black hand of Death hovering near from nearby woods a gentle breeze carries a mixture of sweet smell to aid in hiding Death's putrid odor oh, but within the shanty houses the devastated sullied houses within each breast an eons old awareness of something feral within their souls for centuries ©October 8, 2014 / Jerry Pat Bolton |

quote: Hello again JerryPat. Please don't think I've singled you out. It just so happens I landed on another hitless wonder of yours on page 11. There were only a few other 'zero-hit posts along the way that really didn't lend themselves to a sensible reply. This was very interesting poetry and as I read some of your other work, may I say this too was a bit of a different take for you. No introspection, but rather something of an outward observation. I took the liberty of extracting a quatrain that especially appealed to me. I hope your other readers enjoy it as much as I. 88's friend. She told me "play one for your supper Danny and maybe you'll get breakfast". |

Thank you, Ticklefingers. As far as this poem being different from the rest of my poetry, I only have this to say; I use many different styles and origins in writing. Don't really much care for staying in the same rut, although in my later years, you are correct, I am being much more introspective. Thank you for your project of uplifting poetry here on PiP. ~*~ When they give you ruled paper write sideways. ~*~ |
