If I should reach December of this life
Dream old, in thoughts of sunshine memories
Should thoughts we shared return your scent to me
I'll live again your smile in melodies

Though days of love be of a younger man
And window-chaired I cast a pensive gaze
To winter's bleak and mournful, landscape stare
Within, I'll walk with you on August days

When to my final bed I take my rest
Aglow with gentle ghosts of yesterday
And morning be eternity for me
I'll close my eyes to picture you my way

Though silent years divide, I'll feel you near
Reflected in an old man's final tear

This it one of the most heartfelt poems I've ever laid eyes on. The depth of emotion truly moved me...
