Siamese hearts sharing each other's bad side. An autumnal existence, where everything dies. A path of destruction laid brick by brick; With hands made of hate, and a face made of stone. Who survives? When you hear the ground wallow and the wind scream, and you see tidal waves of blood wash away your life line on the shore. Is there hope? I live in a world where we'll cremate a phoenix just to sell the ashes. Desperate enough to sell oxygen to asthmatics without insurance. Hollow enough to hear your thoughts echo. And small enough to drown inside a puddle of rain. So let's go... Join me as we journey through the gallows of the Earth. Where the innocent die and the guilty are tortured. As we tread upon the mountains of skulls beneath our feet and only worry if our shoelaces are untied. Follow me. As we embrace superficiality but detest design. Reinforce ignorance, yet reject intelligence. Teach conformity and outlaw eccentricity Welcome to the world. |

You paint a very dark world and no doubt there are too many reasons to lose hope, it's difficult to cope with the results of actions of a humanity who seems unable to solve its problems, unable to co-operate, unable to give dignity to every single human life. Will we ever learn from past events? Will we ever be able to awaken to Love and compassion? "Yes" is my idea, but we do not know the price!! But a great multitude is on the way ... there are more enlightened people than we might know, for they are too often ignored by the media. But they exist and grow in number. I believe that the deepest longing of every human being is that of being loved and that occurs when we are able to love our earthly co-travelers as well as ourselves. It really all begins with a gesture of love, a motion of the heart. Welcome to the world, let's open our eyes and become aware of our potential of love. Thank you for stirring my thoughts with your well written work. Love and peace. Margherita "Love is the One who masters all things; |

Your protest is well spoken! I have to agree (with Margherita) that love will prevail. We all have a need for love to survive, hate is learned. We are all the same when it come to the basic needs in life. Lori |

A deep and thought-provoking piece! Unfortunately, love should prevail, but really it's almost forgotten in the world being turned into a label Thank you for sharing,DP! |

I really like this piece, Damien. It shows the dark side of the world and is the very reason some of us put our faith in the promises God has made. This world is full of evil but there are also glorious moments and miracles to look upon and my personal opinion is that we can harden ourselves like stone or allow God to shield our hearts with the peace in knowing there is something greater than this existance. Thanks for sharing |
