So young and confused
all mixed up in my views
Not sure what I believe in anymore

But a yearning inside
to hold on to a light
that was bright when first opening the door.

A typical teen
all wrapped up in my dreams
Even as Mom lay sick with cancer

Then a sign she would ask for
If she could last for a while more, oh God if its your will, would you answer?

A few days had passed by
and it came as no surprise
to see Mom's April blooms across the lawn

They were still damp from dew
The aroma was new
Although they have seen a many of dawn

As I touched the first one
I noticed under my thumb
was red so I thoughtsomething had cut me

But my soul was awakened
at the shape the red had taken,
and I remembered what mom had been asking

As I gazed at each flower
every petal showed his power
and renewed any faith I may have lost

Of all the blooms I have witnessed
Of white gardenias in all their brilliance
I've never seen any with a cross

Not a doubt in my mind
This was definitely a sign
And it had Jesus written all over it

And to know my mother lived
another 15 more years
To me is just more proof of it

You can believe what you want
And maybe you don't
But in a blink he restored what seemed lost

So I'll put my faith
In God's love, mercy, and grace
Shown on flower petals, the blood stained cross

I believe in faith, I just don't believe, or have it myself. I don't know how old you are, but this was very well written and that is important to me, much more than its content. Welcome to PiP, may you thrive here . . .

Welcome to Passions in Poetry. I enjoyed your first offering, it is a message of hope, very beautiful.

There are many divine blessings to be grateful for. And to be aware of this wonderful truth is a great gift.
