Fond memory?

I remember when we thought
we would end up becoming
just fond memories one day
and I remember thinking
that I would remember
thinking that one day
and I remember thinking
that I didn't want you
to be just a fond memory
now I'm not so sure
if the memories
would be so fond
so maybe I should
just walk away
while you are
still a fond memory.

Quite a cute pondering here, dear Julie. In any case if he is already a memory, and a fond one, you can just let it be that way ... no need to run away from fond memories.

I once resented being called a "fond memory" because I thought it dismissive... till he added "I don't have many". Suddenly, that wasn't such a bad thing to be.
