Brave Be Thou, Soul Brave be thou, soul, on the world's sea a-sliding Thy nature and faith and thy patience kept strong While winds and the waves and the skies are colliding The weathers that transient "gods" are deciding, In prayers to the One who's eternally guiding Rejoice with the peace of an angel's sweet song. (Note: This is written in a stanza-form inspired by Emily Brontë's "High Waving Heather" ) |

A simple enough poem/song, but when we are speaking of the "One," and the "angel's sweet song" it is to those who have faith that the words a more, much more meaningful. ~*~ When politicians give up on liberty, it falls to poets to preserve it. Or write its epitaph. ~*~ |

Your poem is very meaningful and uplifting....gives me hope. Without my faith I would be lost! It wasn't the birds and the bees that gave me life...however imperfect that life may be. |

Each word slides over my tongue as I read out loud to myself. I think "this" makes me taste poetry and feeds my soul. Thank you. Alison |
