The cruelest thing... Is to be handed your dream only to have it snatched away To be stroked with pretty words and well turned phrases That fade into the deepest shadows at the touch of the suns reality The cruelest thing... To kiss countless pretty lies that taste so sweet upon my lips Yet leave a bite like bittersweet chocolate that lingers long after it has melted away The cruelest thing... To be given a glimpse of heaven then thrown to the darkest depths of hell Because you can. |

You have described your hell in the most moving poetical words, Paula. ~*~ When politicians give up on liberty, it falls to poets to preserve it. Or write its epitaph. ~*~ |

So much to lose and so much to ponder. i think the beauty of poetry is to make one feel the words and emotion...and I did. |

Breathe deep and smile, my friend - I will, if you will. I will anyway . . . just to show you it can be done... j. |
